Confraternity Beso de Judas
HISTORICAL REVIEW
Brotherhood founded in 1978 by a group of Easter enthusiastic young men, being its president Mr. Mariano Spiteri; known among people as “Youth’s Brotherhood”.
CANONICAL HEADQUARTERS
Canonically erected in the Santiago’s Main Church.
ICONOGRAPHY
It represents the symbolic sign of the giving of Jesús by Judas to the Roman centurions at the Mount of Olives.
AUTHOR
It is a work by the Jumilla’s sculptor Mr. Mariano Spiteri, realised in 1989, replacing to another one by the same author.
THRONE
It is a work of Orfebrería David from Valencia, realised in silvered silversmithing, decorated with excellent vegetal motives and posters with the Confraternity’s emblematic shield, which is illuminated with four candelabra of silvered silversmithing with red wax. A work from 1989.

TUNIC
Of maroon velvet, with a same colour hood, adorned with a golden cord.

STANDARD
on golden net, the artist fastens symbolic jars with flowers, angels and branches of olive and palm trees; in the centre, a splendid console with an oil representing the moment in which Judas kiss the Master’s cheek, the oil is a work by Mr. Salvador Palao. Designed and realised by the Jumilla’s artist Mr Antonio López Martínez.
