The Brotherhood was founded in 1978. Its main image is the Santísimo Cristo de la Sentencia, work by the religious images carver Mr. Javier Santos de la Hera (Graduate in the Fine Arts School in Madrid, 1979).
CANONICAL HEADQUARTERS
Canonically erected in the Santiago’s Main Church.
ICONOGRAPHY
It represents the moment in which Jesús listens the death sentence by Pilatos, puting on him a red short cape.
AUTHOR
Javier Santos de las Heras, born in Bilbao, resident in Madrid, where he won the Sculpture National Award.
THRONE
It was designed by Salvador Palao and José Tévar from Jumilla, and it was made in the workshops of Mr Manuel Guzmán Bejarano, Sevillian trianero. It is formed by three parts: vents, small baskets and plinth, with four octagonal lanterns, the whole outfit in mahogany wood from Brazil, totally carved by hand.
Tunic
It is of yellow colour with black velvet hood, the tunic is adhered to body with a black velvet sash, embroidered with the trilogo of Christ. It completes the outfit a green velvet cape.
