HISTORICAL REVIEW

The Brotherhood, for taking part in the Santo Entierro’s procession in the Good Friday’s night, achieves the Mrs. Rosario Collado’s heirs, a personification who previously has taking part in the Jumilla’s processions as Our Lady of Solitude. It is when the confraternity, encouraged by Mr. José Tévar, decides to make the paso Las Lamentaciones Ante Cristo Muerto.

CANONICAL HEADQUARTER

Canonically erected in the Santiago’s Main Church.

ICONOGRAPHY

It represents the moment of the shroud of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

AUTHOR

The paso is composed by a Lady of Sorrows from the 19th century, by an anonimous author, a very correct acquisition by this Brotherhood in the last decades of the 20th century. In the paso it also appears three carvings by Mr. José Vázquez Juncal, a self-taught person and an apprentice of the sculptor Mr. Antonio Fernández Dorrego. The statues were polychrome by the sevillan sculptor Mr. Francisco Limón Parra from Villanueva del Ariscal.

THRONE

It is made of wood lacquer in black with applications of golden slip of papers with the Christ’s trilogo, it is illuminated by twenty beacons. The paso’s wax is of green colour and in the throne’s lower part it is observed four beacons which culminate in its upper part with crowns by the house of Mr. Pedro Potenciano de Toledo.

Tunic

The one of the anderos is of white-colour whool and green hood, the tunic carries embroideries of silks of different tones in green, the María’s logo and the Christ’s trilogo.

Standard

it is adorned with gorgeous silvery applications forming garlands of flowers and leaves over a base of stars, a central oil of a delightful taste announces the paso of mystery. It is made in black velvet, and the design and oil are by Mr. José Tévar García.
