AUTHOR

The carving of crucifixed Christ is anonymous from the 16th century, of local property, existing in the small hermitage of Santa Ana del Monte, previous to the building of the Monastery by the franciscan friars. It is a carving with miraculous tradition, since it is said that while the friars were praying, it set free its right hand and gave three times its blessing to the community. It is an image very beloved and devoted by the Jumilla’s people. In 2003 it was restored in the Centro de Restauración de la Comunidad Autónoma de Verónicas.
